Madison, Wis. – January 19, 2009
Faced with new employee training and a never-ending pipeline of hardware refreshes and password reset calls, Candie Halstead at Cal State San Marcos increasingly had to put her own training priorities on the back burner. And now, faced with a PeopleSoft update and the current economic uncertainty, she could be wondering how she’s going to get it all done and keep her sanity.
But she’s not.
Sonic Foundry, Inc. (NASDAQ: SOFO), the recognized market leader for rich media webcasting and knowledge management, will host a live webinar in which Halstead will reveal the secrets of her success, informed by more than three years of using webcasting for software rollouts, IT support presentations and help desk FAQs. She’ll cover how to calculate the time and cost savings of replacing in-person training with webcasts on-demand, and give you tips for taking back control of your workday.
The presentation will also include creative ways to use webcasting to:
- Completely eliminate the “I-Can’t-Come-At-That-Time” syndrome
- Reduce help desk and training costs through consistent, just in time instruction
- Get faculty and staff using the latest software versions faster and with less calls for support
- Enable trainers to deliver more training to more people with less time and resources
- Confirm understanding before granting access to new software
- Empower help desk staff to resolve issues in record time
Presenter:
Candie Halstead is Coordinator of User Support Services with Instructional and Informational Technology Services at California State University San Marcos. Her responsibilities include overseeing the campus helpdesks, conducting faculty/staff software training and keeping software licensing current. She began mediasiting the campus training when the University did a campus-wide implementation of PeopleSoft. Before Mediasite, employees had to wait for scheduled in-classroom training. Mediasite made the training available immediately – it allowed new employees to go online to find the training materials and be brought up to speed immediately.
