Sonic Foundry Announces Partnership in China

Agreement with Neusoft IT Services strengthens company’s presence in the Asia-Pacific region

MADISON, Wis. — March 25, 2014 — Sonic Foundry, Inc. (NASDAQ: SOFO), the trusted leader for video content management and webcasting solutions, today disclosed the company has reached a partnership agreement with Neusoft IT Services Co., Ltd. (“Neusoft IT Services”), a wholly owned subsidiary of Neusoft Corporation (SSE: 600718) in China.

Headquartered in Shenyang, Neusoft is the largest IT solution and service provider in China with a global presence. Under the agreement Neusoft IT Services will provide Mediasite channel services, including reselling and integration services. It will also provide a Chinese-language Mediasite help desk, to provide comprehensive support for Mediasite customers like Wenzhou-Kean University, Kean University’s campus located in the Zhejiang Province.

“We moved to our new Chinese campus this past semester and are using Mediasite for capturing highly interactive class sessions and seminars, as well as conventional lectures and for doing remote inter-continental peer observations of faculty. Having local Mediasite support provides enormous value to our campus, ensures our customer service is never interrupted and allows us to grow our campus video initiatives within our own timeframe,” said Dr. Robert Cirasa, Vice Chancellor and Provost Designate, Wenzhou-Kean University.

“I am so pleased to reach this agreement with Sonic Foundry,” said Mr. Liu Yuekui, General Manager of Neusoft IT Services. “The partnership with Sonic Foundry allows us to expand our e-learning capabilities dramatically, and I am very proud to be their partner in China.”

“Our customers’ video initiatives are growing rapidly, and playing an increasingly important role in the global enterprise and on multi-national campuses. The partnership with Neusoft reiterates our commitment to providing the services they need to expand their Mediasite deployments and will help us provide better local support as they do so,” said Gary Weis, CEO of Sonic Foundry. “Neusoft is a strong partner to accelerate our expansion in China, and we will continue to seek out new opportunities to expand our presence and better serve our customers there.”

This non-exclusive partnership with Neusoft enables Sonic Foundry to expand its business in China, to win new customers, and to allow its multi-national customers to confidently expand their enterprise video deployments to the region.

Sonic Foundry, which saw a 43% growth in billings in Japan and a 25% growth in international billings overall in fiscal year 2013, recently acquired two international companies, Mediasite K.K. in Japan and MediaMission in the Netherlands.
