Sonic Foundry Collaborates with Sony to Extend Reach of Lecture Capture Deployments

AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands (ISE stand # 3-A134). — February 10, 2015 — Sonic Foundry, Inc. (NASDAQ: SOFO), the trusted leader for video creation and management solutions, announced a technology solution with Sony Professional Solutions aimed to introduce greater efficiencies and scalability in lecture capture deployments.

The next generation of Mediasite Recorders support a synchronized video and audio stream directly from IP cameras such as Sony’s SRG-300SE Full HD remotely operated PTZ camera. Sony has developed this solution specifically to work with Mediasite by focusing on providing improved audio synchronization. Once captured by Mediasite, the video and audio is then managed, indexed and delivered via Mediasite Enterprise Video Platform for optimal playback experience.

Together with Mediasite, the global market leader in lecture capture, this innovative remote-camera from Sony helps to extend the reach of high quality video capture to classrooms and learning spaces of any size and level of AV readiness, meeting the growing demand for streaming and recording lectures.

The solution will be showcased at ISE (Integrated Systems Europe) this week in Amsterdam at Sonic Foundry stand # 3-A134 and Sony stand # 1-H120.

“We are proud to work with Sonic Foundry to introduce innovative and economic options for customers to seeking to aggressively expand their lecture capture deployments with video,” said Alessandro Marcello, Product Manager Visual Communication solutions, Sony Europe . “We’re pleased to provide more options to allow them to scale video capture and overcome potential technology barriers in rooms.”

“With collaborations like this one, we’re helping to address the challenges our customers face when planning for increasingly large, centralized video deployments. This empowers them to plan for a future in which lecture capture can be deployed intelligently and with agility and scale across an entire campus – even classrooms that might in the past been overlooked,” said Rob Lipps, executive vice president, Sonic Foundry.
