Company to showcase Mediasite Enterprise Video Platform, the most advanced campus video solution for content capture, delivery and management

BbWorld 2013, Las Vegas, Nev., Booth 623 — July 10, 2013 — For the second year Sonic Foundry, Inc. (NASDAQ: SOFO), the trusted leader for video content management and webcasting solutions, is a Gold Sponsor of BbWorld 2013. The company is demonstrating Mediasite Enterprise Video Platform at the conference, taking place this week in Las Vegas, Nev.

Blackboard is a global leader in enterprise technology and innovative solutions that improve the experience of students and learners. BbWorld 2013, the company’s annual user conference, attracts more than 3,000 administrators, academic leaders, instructors and technical experts from around the world for networking and sharing best practices.

Sonic Foundry will show the latest innovations to Mediasite Enterprise Video Platform, the cornerstone to successful university and college video management strategies, along with the enhanced Mediasite Building Block for Blackboard Learn. Any Mediasite-recorded lecture, presentation or meeting, whether live or archived, can be published to Blackboard Learn. Mediasite Enterprise Video Platform is the most flexible and open approach to creating, uploading, managing and distributing all video-based content – from classroom instruction and flipped classrooms to library media repositories and campus events. New to the platform are:

  • Mediasite Upload, giving users the ability to bring any video into Mediasite using the camera on an iPad or iPhone, or formats, including Adobe Flash, QuickTime, AVI, Windows Media, MPEG4 and others
  • My Mediasite, a streamlined, user-friendly interface from which users create, upload, manage and share their own video content
  • Mediasite ML HD Recorder, the go-anywhere appliance to stream live or on-demand from any venue
  • Multi-video capture to capture and simultaneously stream up to four live HD video signals
  • Centralized capture for cost-effective expansion of high quality video streaming to any room by leveraging IP cameras and video conference endpoints

“Mediasite is the leading solution for online learning, proven to improve student outcomes, accelerate faculty adoption and speed the creation of online education programs. We’re proud to continue our long-standing partnership with Blackboard, another global enterprise technology leader, to give students convenient, anytime access to their instructors’ rich media presentations directly from their managed courses within Blackboard Learn,” said Rob Lipps, executive vice president of Sonic Foundry.

BbWorld’s program will focus on key issues in education including student retention, mobile technology, online programs and analytics. Be sure to catch Mediasite customer Ankit Desai, Multimedia Production Specialist at Villanova University as he presents Utilizing Blackboard to Drive Content Capture Use on Your Campus, on Thursday, July 11 at 3:00 p.m.
