Sonic Foundry Names Finalists in the Seventh Annual Rich Media Impact Awards

MADISON, Wis. – April 25, 2011 – Sonic Foundry, Inc.(NASDAQ: SOFO), the recognized market leader for rich media webcasting, lecture capture and knowledge management, today announced the finalists for the seventh annual Rich Media Impact Awards, which honor excellence in the practical and creative integration of Mediasite in business, education, health and government.

Members of the Mediasite user community nominated organizations for their achievements in improving information accessibility, cost savings, efficiency and productivity through Mediasite.
This year’s finalists join more than 100 organizations from around the world that have been honored since 2005.

“Once again the finalists this year amazed us. Demonstrating excellence in both creativity and measurable results, the entries illustrate the passion and commitment our customers have toward knowledge-sharing that transcends time and distance,” said Rob Lipps, executive vice president of Sonic Foundry.

For the first time, all RMIA finalists in attendance at UNLEASH 2011 will have the chance to win a Mediasite ML or RL Recorder during a drawing at the event. Sonic Foundry will also continue to award Student Impact Scholarships honoring both the student and the university they attend. The student runner-up will receive a $1500 scholarship. The winner will receive a $2500 scholarship and that student’s university will also receive a Mediasite RL Recorder.
