Orlando, Fla. — EDUCAUSE Booth #501 — September 30, 2014 — Sonic Foundry, Inc. (NASDAQ: SOFO), the trusted leader for video creation and management solutions, today announced the company’s Mediasite platform will be used to webcast the EDUCAUSE 2014 Annual Conference Sept. 29 to Oct. 2 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.
EDUCAUSE is the premier gathering for higher education IT professionals, exploring today’s toughest technology issues. EDUCAUSE started delivering sessions on-demand via Mediasite in 2005. Four years later, conference organizers created a live hybrid event, delivering both online and face-to-face experiences simultaneously, a model that continues to this day. From their desktops or mobile devices, about 350 distributed participants from 232 campuses and 12 countries will join in-person participants. Remote attendees will have access to 63 general, featured and themed concurrent sessions.
“Our annual conference attracts the best thinkers in the higher education IT industry, and although not all attendees are physically at the conference, Mediasite makes them feel as if they are with dynamic real-time interactive capabilities,” said Julie Little, VP at EDUCAUSE. “We’re excited to continue our decade-long relationship with Sonic Foundry to enhance our conference and ensure that the conversations that take place here will last long after the final session.”
The following sessions will be available live and on-demand to the public:
• Badging to Support Professional Development and Career Building
• Flipping Out Over the Flipped Classroom
• Gathering No Moss: A Tribute to Followership
• It Takes a Community: Responding to Developing Leaders
• Leaning, Rising, Meandering, Holding: Your IT Career at Different Life Stages
On-site attendees can see Mediasite in action and learn about its latest developments at Sonic Foundry’s booth 501. Matt McCurdy, Sonic Foundry’s VP of Education, will also present “How to Future-Proof Your Academic Video Strategy” at 9:10 a.m. ET Oct. 2 in Meeting Room W204.
“It’s an honor to have worked with EDUCAUSE for the past 10 years to create rich video portals of knowledge from the conference for people around the world to access anytime, anywhere,” said Rob Lipps, executive VP of Sonic Foundry. “We look forward to our continued relationship to expand the conference to a larger audience.”
Mediasite by Sonic Foundry is the video management, lecture capture and academic webcasting platform of choice for 1,250 colleges and universities in 58 countries.
